FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Can a Doulos student study abroad at ANY school?
A. For Dominican students to be able to study abroad we need the U.S. high school to have an I-17 (issued paperwork from the government) to be able to issue an I-20 in order for Doulos students to be eligible to apply for a VISA. If it is a private school, tuition would need to be waived as well.
Q. Can I guarantee my student will speak English?
A. Yes, all our students are bilingual!
Q. What do I do if there is a problem?
A. We desire our host families to be just that – families. As a host mom/dad our students NEED YOU. Please parent them and direct them through this new journey as you would you own child. We check-in with the student during the first month and also ½ way through their time abroad, but always know we are available to step in and help whenever you need. Please contact Becky Zweber if you need assistance (firstname.lastname@example.org)
