Building the Future

Creating a permanent home for God to continue His work at Doulos

We Can’t Stay Where We Started

Over the past 20 years, God has grown Doulos from a little revolutionary spark to an established PreK-12 multi-accredited institution that has impacted the lives of thousands of people.

When Doulos was first starting, we rented two old vacation homes on the outskirts of town and turned them into our school. Renting made it financially possible to get off the ground and bring the Doulos vision to life. We are so grateful for our beginnings, but as we look to the future, Doulos needs to have a permanent home of its own.

The Problems with Our Current Facilities:

Not for sale.

Over the years, we have talked about buying our current land. It has been made clear that this property is only available for rent.

Rented buildings need major repairs.

Our older buildings NEED to be replaced or repaired, with costs over $500,000. This investment would only be a temporary solution to the larger problem.

No room to grow.

This space has brought us as far as it can. We are using every inch of our current location and have no space to expand into the future God is calling us to.

No longer a good environment for learning.

20 years ago, our location was on the outskirts of town with plenty of space to learn and explore. Now, we are on one of the noisiest streets in town surrounded by commercial businesses.

Our facilities have brought us as far as they can. Now, we need a permanent home.

God Has Guided Us Through The BIG First Step

First - God brought us a place to build our permanent home.

Through a series of connections that God wove together, we learned about a piece of land south of town that borders a national park— a piece of land that embodies the heart and soul of Doulos.

It has mango trees, rivers, hiking trails, on-campus camping, flat space to build, and acres and acres of outdoor learning opportunities.

Second - God provided a way to secure the land.

Last winter, God connected us with a family we’d never met before. They came down to Doulos and saw firsthand all that God was doing here. Needless to say, they were very moved. They offered us a $500,000 “challenge gift” that inspired hundreds of people to donate the other $500,000 we needed.

Together, we got the match and the title for the land is now in our hands!

Today, we are working to develop the plans and phases to continue to build our permanent home.
