A Bridge Between Two Cultures

God has a heart for the nations. He has sent us into all the world. You, your family, and your church do your best to follow Jesus in this.  But, as much as you care and want to help, it isn’t always easy to know what to do or where in the world to go.

The Dominican Republic is a beautiful island nation in need. Poor education, poverty, pollution, poor nutrition, disease, and a host of other challenges keep millions in a cycle of poverty.

Short term mission trips to Doulos Discovery School are called “Service Learning Teams” because not only will your team serve alongside us, but our staff will educate you throughout the week on issues of importance in the Dominican Republic and how Doulos is making a difference! We hope that your experience will be compelling and that you will return home with a new awareness that you’re willing to share.

With the concept of EDUCATION as the driving force of our trips, our teams will focus on three main areas:

  • Learning about cultural needs and how mission teams can responsibly address those needs
  • Demonstrating servant leadership on our campus, and
  • Reaching out to the community beyond our campus.
  • Our Service Learning Teams Coordinator will help you customize your trip and will serve as your host on the ground once you arrive, accompanying your team on service projects and activities in town and on campus.  We invite you to come serve and learn with us!
